In 2017, Between Friends Coffee received its first Best Coffee Shop honor in the community’s Best of the Best awards. At the time, we were still a young business, learning and growing each day, and the recognition meant more to us than we could have imagined.
What made the award truly special was how it was decided. These honors are voted on by the community—by the very people who walk through our doors, sit at our tables, and share their mornings and afternoons with us. Knowing that our guests believed in what we were building was both humbling and encouraging.
From the beginning, our goal was never simply to serve coffee. We wanted to create a place where people could feel comfortable, welcomed, and known—a space where friends could gather, books could be discovered, and conversations could linger. Receiving this award in 2017 felt like confirmation that the vision was taking root.
That year also reminded us that a coffee shop is never built by owners alone. It takes a dedicated team, supportive families, and a community willing to embrace a small, local business and help it grow. Every guest who visited, every friend who spread the word, and every regular who made us part of their routine played a role in that first recognition.
We remain grateful for that moment. It set the tone for the years that followed and continues to inspire us to serve our community with care, consistency, and heart.
